Living water for a thirsty world
David and Philena grew up in the church of Christ. David's grandfather was a bi-vocational preacher and an elder. Philena's father has been in full-time preaching ministry for nearly 40 years; her grandfather, 24 years at the Goudy Church in Ohio.
David and Philena married in March 1999 and graduated in 2000 from the East Tennessee School of Preaching and Mission, now called Southeast Institute of Biblical Studies. From 2001 to 2013, they ministered among churches in Virginia, Alabama, and Michigan.
They are raising two daughters in this life, and they have two children in Paradise, one of whom is the focus of a memorial site:
David has a heart for missions, and David's family is very supportive of his commitment to Guyana.
Having hearts made for ministry, David & Philena love to serve God and help others. Their daughters are energetic and anticipate joining dad in Guyana.
